What is Thermal Cycling?

Thermal cycling is a controlled process of cycling through two temperature extremes at controlled rates and dwell times. This process is typically used on end products that will be exposed to varying temperature changes. It is also used as a final stress relieve prior to diamond honing in the optical industry.  Parts and components that are used in space applications which require tight dimensional tolerances are often treated through this process. Newton Heat Treating has the capability of thermal cycling at temperatures between -300°F to 400°F at controlled rates.  All of our thermal cycling chambers are calibrated utilizing AMS 2750 aerospace standards.
